Jade plants are low-maintenance, succulent houseplants that are easy to grow in indoors, and they are capable to live for longer time spans if handled with good care! In this article, we'll share those three things which you should keep in mind when you are growing Jade plants.

1: Check how and where you are planting them

Jade plants grow best in wide pots with moderate depth. That's because these plants have a tendency to overgrow and then fall over from the container.

Choose well-drained soil as soils with more than required moisture might attract fungal infections eventually killing your plant. You can either use a pre-mix for succulent plants or add perlite or cow dung manure to improve drainage.

After transplanting the Jade plant, don't water it right away. Wait for 3-4 days, and let the plant settle and recover from any possible damage.

Jade plants require at least 6 hours of direct sunlight to grow well. Make sure you are growing it in such a location

2: Check how you are watering them

Watering Jade plants correctly is very important. Improper watering is one of the most common issues which people face while growing this plant.

During summers, when the plant is actively growing, it will require more water. Practice deep watering (the soil should get enough moisture - not just the top surface).

Allow the soil to dry completely before you water it again.

During winters, the plant may completely pause its growth and go dormant. This is the period when it doesn't require much water and a full-grown Jade plant might not even require any water at all during this period.

3: Keeping the pests and diseases at bay

Avoid root rot which is mainly caused due to excess watering. Avoiding excess moisture will solve this problem totally. Leaf drop is another problem that happens due to improper watering in the Jade plant.

Mealybugs are very common on Jade plants. If your plant is infected with it, we would recommend spraying Neem Oil Concentrate to get rid of it or totally removing the infected branch and starting afresh

Keep these things in mind when growing the Jade plant in your garden and watch your plant thrive with amazing growth! Till then, take care, and happy gardening :)
